Cocker Spaniel Photoshoot at Bradgate Park

Judson is only five months old but he was a super good boy, so quick to understand what was asked of him. He is a natural  model and I was a happy photographer.

He has a really good recall, can sit and stay and is super fast. I had to have several goes at him running to me, but he didn’t mind at all, he loves running even though he already had had a good walk to try to tire him out. He has boundless energy and the sweetest of temperaments.   He was very attentive to his dad, intensely looking for clues from him. His devotion was quite heart melting I must say and I love cocker spaniels just a bit more having met him.

His coat is jet black, shiny and extremely soft. The light just dances on his silky hair. I also love the curls on his ears. Black dogs are notoriously difficult to photograph, we have to position him or her in such a way that they have catch lights in the eyes and that the coat shines so we see the details on the body. Bradgate Park has many great areas to shoot in.

This puppy understood very quickly I wanted him to peep through the fence, he is very clever indeed and loves his treats. I look forward to seeing him grow up and to meet the rest of his family.
