Hare Krishna Temple Wedding London
Like many couples of mixed cultures, Reena and Tristan wanted to honour both their heritage, mixing Hindu and British traditions and they chose to devote one day to each side. For my wedding, we had woven threads of many cultures too.
I knew the temple from having been there for my husband’s nephew’s wedding and for photographing one of the family babies’ havan there. It is a beautiful venue with gardens, a lake and a sense of peace I like.
I met with Reena’s family in Leicester and travelled with them to the temple where Reena was getting ready. The ceremony was explained to the British audience so it was more meaningful. I particularly like the steps the couple take after the agni.
I captured some of the details at home in Leicester, then Reena in the temple’s little bridal room, with the rituals there then her groom arriving, the whole wedding ceremony and the group shots. I also take natural portraits of the guests and relaxed photos of the couple. I shot a lot of photos but here are some of my favourites.
It was a lovely day and both the guests and the couple enjoyed the gardens. It’s important for the couple to have some breathing space during the day and just enjoy each other!
If you’re having a Hare Krishna Temple wedding in London, and like natural photos but want someone who understands the rituals, give me a call, I love the temple. Thank you.
