Vintage Engagement Photoshoot in Loughborough Great Central Railway Station

I love themes and anything out of the ordinary so I was very excited when Meetal and Dee announced they wanted to do a 1940 pre-wedding shoot at Loughborough Grand Central Railway Station.

I had done one before, a mother and daughter one at Quorn railway station so I had ideas but I love improvising and tailoring the shoot to the people and location I am working with that day. Meetal’s make up and outfits were fantastic- she is a make up artist! (make up by M) I had suitcases and a sun umbrella I love and was happy to contribute.

All pre-wedding shoots are a bit clumsy to start with as we need to gel and get comfortable, and this one was less of a natural photography style because of the setting, but we soon got in the swing of things and we all contributed ideas, the more the merrier! We’d chosen a week day so we wouldn’t compete with many other train aficionados  and we had the station for ourselves, so, with the help of the maintenance staff we explored all possible locations.  Here are only a few images of what we took..

PS: I went to visit them and it was great seeing a frame they’d made with their engagement photos in their front room.
