Lifestyle Newborn & Baby Photography At Home
My newborn and baby photoshoots are in your home; it’s a time when you can relax, get a cuppa, and put your feet up, while being around and telling me what you’d like. No travelling or organising needed! These newborn photography shoots capture your baby’s endless expressions when awake and their features when asleep. The baby’s needs come first, whether for feeding, changing, or cuddling. All is welcome— no stress.
I am happy to go over the usual 2 hours if needed, so you get all you want from the session. Photos are of the baby alone on different backgrounds, maybe with clothes, toys, or blankets that hold a special meaning to you. I also photograph the baby naked or wearing very little to remember how adorable their little body folds and curves.
Photos with you, of course, to capture your love and connection— you do not need a flat belly or makeup; what matters is in your heart, which shows on your face. Babies love skin to skin contact but only if you ‘d like.
Newborn Photography with Grandparents, Siblings & Pets
Photos with both parents, grandparents, siblings, pets— all are possible as long as the pets are safe around the baby. What I need mostly is light, as I don’t want to use flash. I can work even in small houses if I can position the baby on a bed or on rugs near a window. Don’t worry about any mess; you’ve just given birth and housework isn’t a priority. You and your baby are!
The Experience
The photos are safe— no posing the baby, just wrapping them and using blankets as backgrounds and wraps. Black backgrounds make for some studio-like photos while keeping the baby supported and safe.
What is the best age for a newborn shoot?
Each stage of your baby’s life is unique and precious, so while the newborn phase is commonly around two weeks, do not worry if baby is older. One month or older is fine too. Each age is special. Having an album of your baby’s first year is priceless. I did that until my children were grown up, creating a family album each year as well as wall collages. Now they like showing their girlfriends how they grew up, and I get to heart-melt over their little faces again, now that they are taller than me.
I also do birth photography and photos as soon as possible after birth— also called Fresh 48 newborn sessions— at home or in hospital.
Your gallery is open for a year; you can download and share photos, buy prints, and select favourites for an album.
