Pregnancy is a unique time, whether it is your first baby or your last one, it is incredibly special.

You are getting to know your baby in a way nobody else can, ripening with him/her and glowing despite the backache and tiredness.

These moments change everything — you go from a couple to a family, you become a mother, uniquely, as you won’t be the same mother twice. It is not just the baby growing in your belly; you are also changing forever, and this time is unique to this pregnancy. Photographing you at your ripest and fullest will capture the holiness of these moments.

As a family and maternity photographer, I focus on capturing your natural beauty and intimate, lifestyle moments. I don’t just take maternity photos; I celebrate your remarkable journey into motherhood.

At-home nude or semi-nude maternity photos

I usually shoot outdoors, ideally at the end of a sunny day when the light is golden. However, for maternity photos I also offer to set up at your home with studio lighting to create beautiful, intimate images of you alone and with your family, including pets if you’d like. You choose how much skin you reveal, and each photo is respectful and discreet. For newborn photoshoots, I also offer to photograph the baby at home but without flash.

The maternity photo shoots last around two hours, although if we also go to your home, it can last a little longer. I edit very quickly so you can see and share the digital photos within days of the photoshoot. You can also order prints and albums.

Indoor & Outdoor Maternity Photography with Family

Maternity photoshoots are a mix of very relaxed photos of the two of you as a couple—and other children if there are any—and some more aimed at showing off your bump, with many photos taken from the side, with and without other people.

What to wear for your maternity photoshoot?

Long dresses that flow and emphasize the bump work best. Some are tailored under the breasts, some open up at the front, some have a degree of translucency, some are very fitted. We will discuss options when you book your session.

When is the best time to take maternity photos?

The last trimester can seem long and feel heavy—I remember well—but it is also when you look the most amazing. Except for medical reasons, 36-38 weeks is great for maternity photos but we can do them before if you prefer.
