Birmingham Wedding at the Uffculme Centre
More and more people look for wedding venues with a difference to get somewhere original, less expensive, more easily booked etc. Charlotte and Al decided to do their Birmingham wedding at the Uffculme Centre, a NHS training centre. It has beautiful features front and back and a great outdoor space that the couple and their guests put to good use. There is a ceremony room which is very light as the walls are glass, a good size reception room, a drinks room too, a terrace with tables, chairs and parasols to socialise and have drinks as well as a bit green space and a wooded area.
The bridesmaids were the couple’s daughters. with home-made gorgeous bouquets.
We did group shots at the front and the back.
I much prefer it when groups are interacting, it feels much more alive and less stilted that when everyone stands straight and tries to smile.
Can you see how many games were played on the lawn? of course, chilling was an option too.
There were indoor games too with some drawing to do, some reading for the day and some photo props to use
The speeches were given by both best man and best friend, bride and groom.
The couple had decided that their priorities in terms of budget were venue and food, live music and photography so they did the flowers and the cakes themselves. I was really impressed by the bouquets, it looked to me really professional.
Al is part of a band and their singer sang, I must say he was very very good, not easy to sing on your won, but he was really amazing.
In the evening a jazz band came in, and one of the guests joined them for some impromptu playing and singing.
The couple didn’t want to spend long on their photos but to capture the day as it flowed, with their guests having fun and whatever happened. We had about 10 minutes to do some photos of them and they were a lot of fun!
