Having wedding photos done when it is just the two of you, is such a peaceful way to celebrate your union. May be you wanted different wedding photos than on the day, may be you wanted to wear the dress again, or to celebrate an anniversary. In Europe we often do the couple photos on a different day so you get to spend the day with your guests. These sessions are sometimes called love the dress photoshoot, or even trash the dress if you want to go wild, know you will never use this dress again and want to do paintballing or go swimming with it with no regret at all.
This couple chose a very peaceful, beautiful setting: Normanton church in Rutland. It gives onto Rutland waters and provides a fantastic backdrop for wedding photography. We had time to play so did a mix of very relaxed, natural, bare footed photos on the beach, more posed photos- the couple’s choice- around the church, using natural light, then some portable lights I brought for more dramatic photography.
Shooting through the windows gave the photos a vintage look I liked and enhanced when editing them.
It wasn’t the first time I did a Love the dress photoshoot at Normanton church, you can see the first one here.
If you would like to do a photoshoot by Rutland water, some tips: check the church isn’t used that day, book a room at the hotel for the night and to get changed, and cover up in anti-mosquito cream!
If you would like a love the dress wedding photoshoot at Normanton church or elsewhere I’d love to help you get the photos you want.
And if you are getting married at Normanton church, I would love to be your photographer! Please get in touch!
