Modern Fusion Wedding Photography
Wedding Photos by Lumière Photography
Fusion weddings are a beautiful blend of personalities, histories, cultures, and traditions—each one unique to the couple. What brought Shailini and Matt together was a love for books, language and learning, so it was only fitting that they made literature the central theme of their celebration by having a book-themed wedding!
Alongside their book-inspired decor, they also wanted to incorporate Hindu rituals that were important to Shailini and her family, so they found a way to weave them into the day while keeping the wedding completely their own. A perfect mix of who they are, with added touches to include everyone.
The City Rooms in Leicester looked fabulous as always, and later in the evening, the glow-in-the-dark colours added a whole new dimension—something I hadn’t seen before! It was a challenge to capture but made for such fun, vibrant photos.

It was a book-themed wedding throughout—from the invites and menus to the table names, which were brilliant and so funny! The groom even made a Penguin book cake, which was a huge hit. And to top it all off, they even managed to find a bookshop that welcomed them on a Sunday for their couple’s photoshoot. We had so much fun with the books, playing with different poses, and making their photos truly personal.
Even the Mehndi had a literary twist—Shailini had a henna Penguin drawn on her foot, a creative and personal nod to their love of books.
