When Family and Dog Photography Come Together

Nestled in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside, this family photoshoot beautifully captured the essence of rural life and the warmth of family connections. As a gamekeeper, the dad brought along his working dogs, which added a delightful and unexpected dimension to the session. While the main focus was on capturing natural photos of their children and candid family portraits, I couldn’t resist photographing the dogs exploring the trees, lounging on the ground, and even leaping through the air.

We began by exploring the woods, where the kids played among the trees and hay bales thoughtfully brought along in their dad’s truck. Their little black dog eagerly joined in, weaving his way into many of the shots and adding a playful energy to the session.

After I said goodbye and started driving away, I noticed the dad preparing his dogs for work. The dog photographer in me couldn’t resist stopping to take photos of them—they were such a beautiful bunch! Seeing them together was captivating and the perfect way to conclude the story of this rural family’s life.
