Gay Wedding at Rushton Hall

In other words, a wedding. I am only saying Gay Wedding so if someone is looking for it specifically,  they can find it. So I’d say it’s a wedding , just like any other, except that this one a very very emotional wedding. Half the room cried, including the registrar. I’d never seen a registrar cry before at a wedding.

The couple had a hard time planning the wedding as they were in Brazil while planning it at Rushton Hall near Kettering. But they got some really great suppliers and the wedding was great. They wore matching blue suits with pink ties, echoed perfectly by the cake which was very classical on the outside and a rainbow cake in the inside, revealed at the evening party.

They went to the hairdresser in the morning for hair and make up, which was a fun, relaxed, moment, I then captured them put the last touch to  their vows and dress, before walking together down the aisle and speak about their journey to get married in very emotional ways. Brazil doesn’t recognise gay weddings.

They had a very talented violinist play during the ceremony, Erick Das Neves Alves. For favours they had little bottles of olive oil infused with rosemary. They decorated the cellar with tons of balloons, which everyone loved.

The couple images were fun, after so much emotion, we chose to have fun and keep it light rather than be very serious and emotional again. We then did group shots, some planned, many impromptu ones, while leaving enough time to capture portraits of all the guests and details.

Sadly that evening was the night of the Orlando massacre, which reminded us even more of the injustice people suffer because of who they love, and who they are. This made this wedding even more special and precious.
