Holme Pierrepont Wedding Photography
Jessica and James are a perfect couple, both really strong and fit- they are keen cyclists, they love nature and have been living together for 5 years so know each other very well. They chose Holme Pierrepont in Nottingham as their wedding venue because it has everything and they are part of the church community, which makes the ceremony even more moving.
Jess is German and her family flew over to be with her. Mum walked her down the aisle and the vicar welcomed everyone in two languages. The texts were translated too to include everyone.
The church is within Holme Pierrepont so they just walked to the hall after their guests got them to walk under arch made with bicycle wheels. The kids picked up the confetti and skipped across. it rained a little bit but we could still take a photo of the whole party from the first floor window. It is rare that the view form the window is so lovely as we can see the church and the gardens.
The house is lived in so it doesn’t feel like just another venue, it has a real charm and warmth. The gardens have both formal and informal areas, so are perfect for a range of photos and the house has a very ancient and impressive staircase.
I let you see the slideshow of the day.
Alix added another dimension to our wedding day. Her photos are for us a constant reminder of the beauty, joy and happiness we experienced on our special day. Her eye for special moments, situations and her use of light and the setting of the day resulted for us in photos we will treasure forever. Still now, whenever looking and reviewing at the photos, the day comes to life again. Her friendly and quiet manner means I was at ease right from the start and during the engagement shoot I knew we had struck gold. We both felt relaxed in her presence and on the day itself, Alix was so discreet that many photos are a complete surprise. Her pictures capture the essence of the day and the celebration and are true to the saying “A picture says more than a thousand words.” I am looking forward to our album which will be a fitting finish to stunning photos. I hope to have more opportunities for Alix to be our photographer.
