Photographing kittens and cats at Redgate Farm Animal Sanctuary was an unforgettable experience.

In a world where so much can feel out of our control, giving back in ways we can is so important. For me, that means using my photography to make a difference. As a pet photographer, I love working with animals, so I reached out to charities with animals in need of rehoming. Redgate Animal Sanctuary graciously opened its doors to me, and I spent a wonderful day photographing their adorable kittens and cats.

Capturing beautiful cat portraits in this setting presented its own challenges—kittens don’t exactly pose or stay in one spot! Without much control over the background, I had to embrace spontaneity, letting the cats’ personalities shine through. The result was a gallery of authentic, heartwarming images that highlight the unique charm of each kitten and cat.

As much as I wanted to bring home most of the kittens, my husband and our own cats would probably have had something to say about that! I had to leave them for other families to adopt and cherish.

I can’t wait to return to Redgate to photograph more animals. In the meantime, if you’d like to create timeless photos of your own cats and kittens, I’d love to meet them and capture their unique beauty.
