Natural family and maternity photoshoot in Bradgate Park Leicester

Maternity photoshoots can be very revealing- usually indoors but not necessarily;  very romantic, or fun, or both- see the others in the category like this one–  and there are some amazing clothes to highlight the bump, but it’s not for everybody. This family asked for a natural family and maternity photoshoot in Bradgate Park, so that’s what we did.

We went for a walk and focused on the little boy having a good time, being safe near water of course, and enjoying all the wonders of Bradgate Park. There are always great opportunities there, whatever the season, animals, colours, trees, rocks, gateposts, ruins…

As the little boy is only little we chose the Newton Linford entrance so he’d be able to look at the animals on the river and walk safely on the road. 

I wanted to capture the bump naturally, with a few photos to highlight it but mainly to have it present in the family life, and focus on the relationships, the connection between the parents and between them and their son while he’s still an only child. 

I loved how dad looked after him and how he had his own mind about things, from photobombing his parents to yes, stepping in that puddle!

Note to self: remind parents to take change of clothe with them especially if it’s wet or muddy. Also a good idea to take a snack and (warm) drink when the energy drops.
