Outdoors newborn photoshoot at Whatton Gardens
I’d never done an outdoors newborn photoshoot, not in this climate. I’d done a few photos popping out in the garden after an indoors shoot if it was warm enough but not a full shoot outdoors. But it was a perfect spring day and Whatton Gardens are a delightful place in all seasons.
I was amazed by how mum managed to do the shoots days after her caesarean, she walked slowly but glowed and looked so beautiful even with the lack of sleep and all the tribulations of a not so easy birth. We think of doing baby photos and sometimes we forget about doing photos of older people who might not have long with us, so this was both, a celebration of love passed through generations.
When I shoot at home, a newborn photoshoot is not really posed, there are a few organised photos, but it’s mostly about being in awe of the little person- or people- and discovering their personality/ies. Here, in the outdoors, it was more set up, we did more group shots with the families, one from UK, one from the USA so a rare occasion to have everyone together.
I’m posting my favourites here as I can’t post them all.
Whatton gardens is a beautiful place for all types of photoshoots, I’ve done couples photoshoots and family photoshoots there, but it was my first outdoors newborn photoshoot. If you’d like photos there, do give me a call.
