Energetic post and pre wedding photoshoot around Loughborough
How can it be a post and pre wedding photoshoot? well, they are in between weddings, the papers have been signed but the receptions with the families still need to happen, and they wanted to show them the photos so this is an in between weddings photoshoot. Hence the wedding dress. I’ve never seen a wedding dress treated with so little care, which meant Emma had no fear about jumping, climbing, being on the grass, on rocks, on slides or swings, she just had fun, and so did I!
Kervin and Emma met at Loughborough university so they wanted to start the photoshoot there, then go to a playground and then.. well we changed our minds many times and ended up on top of Beacon hill for sunset. It couldn’t have been better.
Emma is quirky, energetic, romantic, and quite mad, I love her quirkiness and energy. I can’t post all the photos here so I picked my favourites.
At the university, we took photos of them by the cricket pitch, climbing walls, stairs, lying in the grass. I like this pink one by the Student Union. The nest one is from the playground that was down the road from where they lived. It seems that playground photos are popular with Chinese couples and I was afraid of it being very fake and posed but when people are having fun, it’s their fun, it becomes my fun too and feels quite natural.
For me , the main thing is that when you see the images you remember feeling good, not awkward, so I’m happy to do whatever makes you feel happy. I think there are big limitations when people are posed because there are only so many poses one can learn, whereas when it comes to each couple, they all have their own way of being together that feels natural to them.
By the playground there were some white flowers, so Emma had fun making twirls- it is a fabulous feeling to wear a wedding dress- kicks, and kisses too.
We’d talked about many places, fields of sheep, Bradgate park, but on the day, Emma fancied going to Beacon Hill and it was just wonderful, we’d timed it to have the golden light but it was pink, and orange, and gold, soft and bright, fantastic.
I love the flowing veil shot but can’t resist showing behind the scenes, since their cousin had come with them to help and she was taking photos on her phone at the same time.
Emma had two veils and kept playing with them, it’s a lovely love bubble in the pink evening.
This one I really really love, there is something quiet, tranquil, heartfelt about it, total presence in the moment, just bliss.
The last ones where the last rays of the sun, and they glowed nearly orange! I love how Emma drinks the sun, feeling the last warmth on her skin, drinking it all.
I loved every minute of that post/ pre wedding photoshoot around Loughborough, so much fun, love, and presence. If you have quirky ideas or you want a romantic bubble at sunset, get in touch and I’ll capture these moments so you can always go back to them. Thank you. Alix
