Pros and cons of wedding venues near Loughborough – Leicestershire
The venues here include Loughborough but also Quorn, Rothley, Sutton Bonnington and Castle Donington.
When you’re looking for a wedding venue, there are several questions to ask yourself apart from budget, whether they are available on your date and how many people it can accommodate.
Do you want somewhere with accommodation so the guests can stay over?
Do you want the ceremony and the reception in the same place to avoid people traveling in between venues? Do you need parking? You can also arrange a bus to take your guests to the venue.
Do you want exclusivity so there aren’t other people apart from your party?
How accessible does it need to be?
Do you want to bring your own caterer? alcohol? Or do you prefer a place with its own catering and bar?
I am local to all these wedding venues near Loughborough but also travel further. Pros: Beautiful historical venue with many areas inside and out for guests and to take photos. There is even a playground for kids but they’d need supervision. The main staircase is one of the most obvious attractions but there are many beautiful places including King Richard’s room used as a getting ready room. There is also the possibility to shoot the whole wedding party from a window just above the door at the back of the building- you can actually see the window on the photo above. Car park. Accessible- In-house bar and catering- very good food-
Cons: No accommodation- the area around the stair case is very dark and needs flash. Photographing the couple on the stairs requires lighting.

For outdoor weddings, there are many things to consider such as: the weather- it can be muddy, how do you keep people off the mud? Toilets. Accessibility. Catering and bar.
It’s a clean slate so you can make it totally yours, but there are more things to think about and organise. A wedding planner can help with these weddings.
